Protocol for Alcohol Abuse
Reasons for use of future-time oriented imagery; relationship between self-representation and maintenance; the Peniston &
Kulkosky protocol, and applying components of the protocol in your hypnotic work.
2:45-4:00 Insight-Oriented Strategies and Ego-State Therapy for Habit Control
Appropriate timing of exploring factors inhibiting constructive change; insight-oriented techniques for addressing factors
inhibiting habit change. The nature and role of ego-states, identifying strategies for accessing and working with ego-states.
After taking this workshop, participants will be able to:
- describe a phase-oriented approach to habit control;
- describe activation of the ventral vagal complex, and its impact on the autonomic nervous system and common psychophysiological disorders;
- identify three hypnotic strategies for anxiety and arousal reduction;
- describe the rationale for displacement strategies;
- identify trauma stabilization techniques that support habit control;
- understand the purpose of hypnoprojectives and application of stabilization and coping strategies;
- apply components of the Peniston & Kulkosky protocol in hypnosis;
- identify strategies for accessing and working with ego states.
Health professionals holding doctoral degrees in medicine, dentistry, podiatry and psychology, or doctoral or masters degrees in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, nursing, or other medical fields, licensed in the state in which they practice; degree graduates receiving documented clinical supervision toward licensing, and graduate students in eligible disciplines with documentation of their student status from the Chairperson of their graduate program.
Continuing Education Credit
We offer 12 Florida CEU's for licensed psychologists under 490 (Provider #50-774, Exp. 5/18); clinical social workers, mental health counselors, and marriage and family therapists under 491 (Provider #50-774, Exp. 3/19), and all our workshops count toward ASCH certification requirements. We automatically report to CEBroker.
