   Friday, March 26, 2010  (4 credit hours)   Registration from 5:30 to 6 pm in the Multipurpose Room.
(Sandwiches provided for dinner)
   6-10:00 pm      Introduction, definitions, history, theories, myths and misconceptions, memory.  Assessment;
   presenting hypnosis to the client; hypnotic relationship; informed consent.  Hypnotic phenomena
   and their applications; steps and levels of hypnosis.  Laws and principles of induction; principles in
   formulating hypnotic suggestions.

   Saturday, March 27, 2010  (8 credit hours)
   8:00 am   Demonstration of 2 inductions.  Small group practice 1.  Concepts of susceptibility.  Stages of
   hypnosis; deepening; re-alerting.
   Noon       Lunch provided by FSCH
   1- 5:00 pm       Uses of hypnosis for relaxation and stress management.  Small group practice 2. Uses of hypnosis in
   psychotherapy.
 
   Sunday, March 28, 2010  (8 credit hours)
   8:00 am   Managing resistance.  Use of metaphors.  Treatment planning, selections of strategies and techniques.  
  Small group practice 3.
   Noon      Lunch provided by FSCH
   1- 5:00 pm      Use of hypnosis in medicine and pain management.  Small group practice 4.  Ethical issues and
  conduct; certification.  Integrating hypnosis into clinical practice.  Summary, questions, evaluations.

   Basic Workshop Objectives
   After taking this workshop, participants will be able to:
   1.        define hypnosis, and describe how to present it to a client
   2.describe ethical considerations in the use of hypnosis
   3.demonstrate the ability to do hypnotic inductions
   4.describe contra-indications for using hypnosis
   5.use hypnosis for relaxation and stress management
   6.discuss hypnosis, memory, and pseudomemory
   7.identify at least 5 of the phenomena associated with hypnosis
   8.demonstrate an understanding of treatment planning and goals appropriate for hypnotic intervention
