This is YOUR page -- a place for you to share your news, your learnings, your new ventures, things you want your FSCH friends to know.  Since it's a public website, be a bit selective, but use it to let us all know when you have a new office or program offering, a new book, or an important transition in your life.  Let us celebrate or sympathize, react or resonate with you.  Use the contact information at the left to let us know what you'd like to share.

At our October 2007 workshop In Melbourne, we were delighted to be able to honor our Member-At Large, FSCH Fellow, teacher, and active creative thinker, Richard Elmore, Ph.D., with a Life Achievement Award.

In addition, Richard was the inspiration for our traveling Basic Workshops, what we have called "Workshops to Go", in which our own members are able to bring our Basic training to schools and facilities around the state.

And, of course, as a Psychology Professor at FIT, Richard has inspired untold numbers of students to become excellent clinicians, and to learn hypnosis as one of their basic skills.  Students are the life-blood of an organization like FSCH.  Without new young clinicians constantly joining our Society, we would eventually find it difficult to continue.

October 2007

We have been able to hold many of our wonderful workshops, at very low cost to the Society, at the Florida Institute of Technology only because of Richard's active involvement and investment in FSCH's ability to stay productive, vital, and financially solvent.  Many members have no idea how much it costs to produce most of our workshops elsewhere, and how grateful we are to have this wonderful facility simply given to us to use when we need it.  This generosity from the school, facilitated by Richard, makes it possible for us to afford all the other locations we also use.
We cannot imagine having run FSCH all this time without your help, Richard!   It was a pleasure seeing your surprise, and being able to give you your award, shown below, on your own turf.  All those students of yours who were there added to the occasion, and enjoyed watching Sarah Arnett present you with their own gifts, a creative piece inspired by one of your own assignments, and an engraved memento.   We hope you will be with them, and with us, for many more inspiring years.
